Outdoorsy Wedding
If you’re a pair who loves adventure — or you want Boulder’s natural beauty to be front and center at your wedding — you’re in the right place. Boulder is an outdoor lover’s mecca, with inspiring mountain views everywhere you look and hiking trails, biking routes, rock climbing and kayaking around every corner.
Have your wedding atop Flagstaff Mountain at the Sunrise Amphitheater (at dawn if you’re really adventurous!) or in Chautauqua Park with the stunning Flatirons as a backdrop. Choose to gather amid rows of fragrant flowers in a peaceful country setting at the Boulder Flower Farm. A close-to-nature reception can also be had at The Riverside, a historic building right on the banks of Boulder Creek. What’s more adventurous, you ask? How about saying your vows in a hot air balloon while floating over Boulder with spectacular views in every direction.
Artsy Wedding
One or both of you have a creative streak? Then no ordinary wedding will do. Entertain your guests at Rembrandt Yard, an upscale gallery-like venue with stunning artwork inside, artist quotes outside and picture windows with views. Or choose the chic Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA), where guests will love perusing new works by contemporary artists. Next door, the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse makes a colorful option. This hand-carved and hand-painted Persian teahouse was created in Dushanbe and gifted to the city of Boulder. The interior is dazzling, and the courtyard flourishes with rose bushes in the summertime. Also consider Museum of Boulder, which has a gorgeous rooftop with stunning views of the Flatirons.
Classic Wedding
If you tend to opt for timeless and traditional, Boulder delivers. There are a number of beautiful downtown chapels and cathedrals available for your ceremony, such Grace Commons Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church and Pine Street Church. The Boulder Country Club, with its manicured landscaping, shady trees and impressive ballroom are sure to be on par with your expectations. The Flagstaff House, perched on the side of a mountain overlooking Boulder, will wow guests with the views and a wine list that’s won the Wine Spectator award for 40 years running.
Vintage Wedding
If you love a good throw-back, take your vintage tastes to the Boulder Theater, with its art deco-era architecture and photo-op-worthy marquee. Keep it classy at the historic Hotel Boulderado, with its turn-of-the-century mezzanine and stained-glass ceiling. Or 19th-century Chautauqua Dining Hall. The University of Colorado’s Koenig Alumni Center evokes the grandeur of a southern manor, perfect for events that spill out onto the veranda and courtyard.
